Institute of Mathematics

L’Institut de Matemàtiques de la Universitat de Barcelona (IMUB), inagurat el juny de 2000, té com a prioritat fomentar i donar suport a la recerca en totes les àrees de les matemàtiques i àrees afins de recerca en informàtica. La seva activitat regular inclou l’organització de conferències, tallers, seminaris, col·loquis i cursos avançats. També acull professors visitants que colaboren amb els professors de la facultat durant períodes d’intensificació de la recerca.

L’IMUB va editar la revista matemàtica Collectanea Mathematica, la revista matemàtica més antiga de l’estat espanyol.

L’IMUB és un dels disset instituts de recerca de la Universitat de Barcelona i és membre de la Xarxa Espanyola d’Instituts de Matemàtiques.

The Institut of Mathematics at the University of Barcelona (IMUB), in functions since June 2000, has as a priority the promotion and support of research in all areas of Mathematics and related areas in computer science. Among its regular activity we have the organization of conferences, workshops, seminars, colloquiums and advanced courses. It also hosts visiting professors who collaborate with faculty members during periods of research intensification.

IMUB publishes the mathematical journal Collectanea Mathematica, the oldest mathematical journal in Spain.

It is also one of the seventeen research institutes of the University of Barcelona, and a member of the Spanish Network of Mathematics Institutes.
