During the celebration of the 2024 Sant Jordi crosses ceremony, emeritus professors Pilar Bayer Isant and Marta Sanz-Solé received the Sant Jordi Cross (both members of the IMUB). This distinction is one of the highest recognition that a person can receive from the Generalitat de Catalunya.

In their case, the distinction is due to their outstanding career and contributions in the world of science and mathematics.
